Welcome back to the Lookout Studio for classes and workshops

Next week we are excited to reopen the doors of the Lookout Studio for our programme of classes and workshops. We are very much looking forward to welcoming you back and have a brilliant programme of activity ready for everyone to enjoy either in person, or from your home.

After such a long time away, we have put together an introduction to what’s new, and how classes and courses are running in the context of our Covid-19 safety guidelines, to keep us all safe and well. And if you have more questions do give us a call or email us at admin@thebasegreenham.co.uk

Help from Staff

Alongside our wonderful artists delivering the sessions each week, The Base team will be available to answer any questions you may have about booking new classes, or returning to a session you enjoyed before. You can reach us on the phone on 01635 582666, and a member of staff will always be around in person to assist in any way we can.

Returning to the Lookout Studio

We have been busy over the past couple of weeks making the space ready for your return. It will look very familiar for those who have been in the space before, with some small changes to allow us to operate in a safe way. On entering the building you should wear a mask and use the hand sanitiser provided as you come in. As has become more normal, we also ask you to keep a safe distance from other participants and staff members as you enter. Floor markings will also direct you to use our one way system throughout the building.

As you leave the Lookout Studio at the end of your class you will also be encouraged to sanitise your hands.

Face coverings in sessions

In accordance with the government guidelines, anyone over the age of 11 entering the space should wear a mask unless exempt.

Cleaning

We have scheduled extra time in between each class in the Lookout Studio to allow us to clean touch points and surfaces after each session. You will also be welcome to use antibacterial wipes for any of your own resources to clean these before you leave the space.

Remote attendance for classes

While we are keen to have all classes return in person, we are offering the chance to join some of our courses remotely via Zoom. This means that, while we can only admit limited numbers in person due to social distancing measures, more people can enjoy the class by joining online. It also allows those who are shielding or who do not yet feel comfortable attending in person to try a new skill. These sessions will be run by the practitioner from the Lookout Studio.

Arriving before your class

We have allowed extra time in between sessions to also ensure that on arrival you are not met by a group leaving the class before. Please arrive promptly for the start of your class, entering the Lookout Studio only when you are invited in by a member of the team or the practitioner.

Illness and self-certifying

While we can’t wait to see you return, if you feel unwell and are unsure of your symptoms please do stay at home. All staff and practitioners will also be self-certifying that they are well before coming into the building.

If you present with any Covid-19 symptoms while in a class you should notify a member of staff and return home immediately to self-isolate and to arrange a test. We have a test and trace system in place should we need to notify you if you may have been in the company if anyone who has had a positive test.
