Welcome back to The Base!

We are thrilled to be welcoming the community back to The Base this summer. The safety of our audiences, participants, practitioners, resident artists, staff team and volunteers is our main priority so we have made some changes to keep everyone safe and comfortable.

BEFORE YOUR VISIT

Book with confidence: We want you to feel confident about booking in advance for an exhibition, course or workshop. It is very important that people displaying symptoms of Covid-19 do not come to events. Therefore, if you are unwell with coronavirus symptoms or having to self-isolate, please phone the Box Office and we will arrange for your ticket cost to be credited to your account or refunded. If we had to close again due to a local or national lockdown, we would also arrange for your ticket cost to be credited to your account or refunded.

Tickets must be booked in advance. We will be limiting the number of people admitted to each viewing session in our gallery to ensure appropriate social distancing, and we will be leaving space between each group in our workshops.

You must only book tickets for people in your household. If you wish to come with someone who is not in your household, they will need to book tickets in a separate transaction. This is for the purposes of Track and Trace and so that we can ensure that government guidelines are being adhered to for the safety of all of our visitors.

If you are feeling unwell: Please stay at home if you are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19. We would encourage you to contact 119 to arrange a test.

Masks: Please remember to bring a face mask or covering with you as we ask that visitors wear them in the building.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE

Social distancing: Please ensure you leave a safe distance between yourself and other customers, resident artists, staff members or volunteers when joining queues or moving around the building.

Hand sanitiser: Please use hand sanitiser on arrival and then regularly re-apply or wash your hands during your visit.

DURING YOUR VISIT

Masks: Visitors must wear a face mask while inside the building.

Tickets: Tickets must be booked in advance. If you have not done so before your visit, you may be asked by a member of our team to purchase these over the phone with the Corn Exchange Box Office or online. You do not need to show a ticket for activities in The Base as our team will have a list of those who have booked.

Food and drink:Honesty Café will be serving food and drink at The Base. They will be asking customers to make contactless card payments where possible. Card machines will be wiped down after use if they have been used for chip and PIN.

Cleaning: We have increased and enhanced cleaning regimes in place. Common touch points will be cleaned regularly throughout the day.

Using the lift: If you need to use the lift, please only travel in it with members of your own household or social bubble.

Using the toilet facilities: Please wash your hands before and after you use the facilities. Please keep your distance and allow others sufficient space to pass, especially when entering or leaving.

Leaving the building: Please follow the signs throughout the building which will guide you on which exit to use.

If you feel unwell: If you feel unwell whilst visiting, please leave the building and return to your home. If you are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms, please contact 119 to arrange a test.
