Art for Calm

Saturday 17th Oct 2020, The Lookout Studio, The Base

Sometimes it’s hard to know where to start.

Using simple drawing, painting and collage techniques, Katherine Kingdon will work with you to explore the written word as a starting point for creativity. She’ll introduce you to some of the methods she uses in her own work, and encourage to embrace both plan and chance in developing a visual response.

Bring along a poem, the words of a song, a piece of prose, a recipe, a school report or any piece of writing (Katherine will bring some too, but you might get more from using words which resonate with you).

You can also bring pens/pencils/paints/any 2D art materials that you’re fond of using – don’t worry if you can’t, there will be some provided. Please bring an apron.

This workshop will take place in person at The Base.

Duration: 1pm - 4pm

All places must be booked in advance. Booking closes 24 hours before the course start time. Please note that we reserve the right to cancel any course or workshop if the minimum numbers are not met. If we are not able to run a workshop you will be informed three working days ahead of the course or workshop start date.

We will be limiting the number of people admitted to each event to ensure appropriate social distancing between each group. You must only book tickets for people in your household. If you wish to come with someone who is not in your household or support bubble, they will need to book tickets in a separate transaction. This is for the purposes of Test and Trace and so that we can ensure that government guidelines are being adhered to for the safety of all of our visitors.

More information on your visit and the changes we have made to follow government and industry guidelines is available here.
