Creative Challenge of the Week: Fun with Food

Monday 11th May 2020 — Friday 31st Jul 2020

For our Creative Challenge of the Week, we would like you to get creative with food! Your challenge is to recreate a character, prop or scene from your favourite book with the food you have at home.

You may be inspired by The Gruffalo, The Hungry Caterpillar or the magic of Harry Potter. Older readers may want to explore the fantasy land of The Hobbit’s Middle-Earth or the galactic world of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

Whatever you choose to make, you’ll have to think about shapes and defining features as you start to build your image with different types of food you have to hand. You may start by using a potato or a piece of fruit. You could build a castle with crackers, or use sugar for sand, spaghetti for hair or a tomato for a nose! You’ll need to be creative but the options are endless!

As always, we want to see your wonderful creations! To share on social media simply tag @thebasegreenham and @cornexchangenewbury. Alternatively, you can email us at getinvolved@cornexchangenew.co.uk.

At the end of the week, we will create an online gallery to share all the amazing food characters you create!
