Introduction to Glass Fusing: 2 projects

We will have the option to make a two kiln-fired pieces; a bowl/platter and either coasters, a suncatcher or a wind chime. You will have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of ideas and glass materials. You will have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of ideas and glass materials.

In project 1
you can create either a small wall hanging, coasters, sun catcher or a wind chime.

In project 2
you will learn techniques to design your own sheet of art glass. This will then be used to form a slumped bowl or platter. Suitable moulds will be discussed and prepared for this process as the technique will include two firings.

These will be taken away for firing in a kiln and will be returned to The Base for you to collect after the course.

This workshop will take place in person at The Base.

Duration: 11am - 5pm

Materials and firing costs are included. If possible please bring Notebook/sketchbook, images and ideas. Dust mask, safety glasses and apron (if you have this available).

This workshop will take place in person at The Base.

All places must be booked in advance. Booking closes 24 hours before the course start time. Please note that we reserve the right to cancel any course or workshop if the minimum numbers are not met. If we are not able to run a workshop you will be informed three working days ahead of the course or workshop start date.
