Following the update to government COVID-19 regulations, The Base will be closed until 3 December. We will be moving as much activity as possible online and will be in touch with those who have booked tickets as soon as possible. You can read our full statement here.

A great course for improving creative observation.

Focusing on the traditional discipline of still life studies, this course will give a balance of observational skills and creative experiments, with the time to discover your own directions.

Teaching as a group and encouraging individualism, enjoy this immensely rewarding experience.

There will be a selection of different objects and themes to work on and explore throughout the course, focusing on different aspects of observation each week.

This course will take place in person at The Base.

Duration: 6pm - 8pm

Course dates: Wednesdays 4 Nov - 2 Dec

Unfortunately the course starting on Wednesday 23 September will not be running. The Box Office team will be in touch with those who have booked.

Paper A3 or above, pencils 4B, masking tape, a rubber, hard and/or putty, willow charcoal, white conte crayon and any coloured materials.

A small selection of basic materials and paper will be available to use, with easels and boards, though students will be encouraged to bring their own to enable diversity.

This course will take place in person at The Base.

All places must be booked in advance. Booking closes 24 hours before the course start time. Please note that we reserve the right to cancel any course or workshop if the minimum numbers are not met. If we are not able to run a workshop you will be informed three working days ahead of the course or workshop start date.

We will be limiting the number of people admitted to each event to ensure appropriate social distancing between each group. You must only book tickets for people in your household. If you wish to come with someone who is not in your household or support bubble, they will need to book tickets in a separate transaction. This is for the purposes of Test and Trace and so that we can ensure that government guidelines are being adhered to for the safety of all of our visitors.

More information on your visit and the changes we have made to follow government and industry guidelines is available here.
