Tetra Pak Printmaking

Sunday 5th Feb 2023, The Lookout Studio, The Base

This workshop is now SOLD OUT - please contact our Box Office, or via our online contact form here, to be added to a waiting list.

Join Sarah Jane Gordon to learn about drypoint printmaking.

Create your own drypoint print using recyled packaging and a pasta machine.

Designed for the complete beginner or anyone wanting to learn a new approach to intaglio printmaking. A self-paced course that will enable you to learn how to use Tetra Pak® to create intaglio prints. This course will show you how to create original prints from start to finish by using easily accessible materials. Learn to engrave, incise and texturise your plates, and then ink and print with them. Giving you all the techniques you need to create exciting prints, and gain the confidence to keep exploring with this creative way to make artwork.

This worksop substitutes the expensive, professional etching press with a home-use pasta machine so participants can continue to enjoy simple intaglio at home with the purchase of a few cheap tools. This creative printing process is an exciting way forward to more sustainable printing. One of the things that I love about these style of prints it that the folds in the package can be part of the print.
