Join us at The Base this Easter for a celebration of arts, crafts and artisan food and drink from local makers and creators.
Come and celebrate all things arts and crafts with us at our inaugural Festival of Arts & Crafts from Saturday 9 to Monday 18 April featuring vibrant craft fairs, creative taster workshops and a stunning exhibition of local peoples’ art work.

Both weekends during the 10 day Festival will feature a craft market surrounding The Base building, with 2D artists displaying work for sale in the Gallery. Visitors will have the opportunity to have a go at a range of workshops from our vibrant programme of arts and crafts workshops and courses.
As well as food and drink provided by our popular onsite café run by Honesty, there will be artisan BBQ food from The Gentleman Smoker (Sat 9 & Sun 10), homemade pies from Ethel’s Pies (Sat 16 – Mon 18 Apr) and sweet treats from Crazyzdays Doughnuts (Sat 9, Sun 10 & Sat 16 Apr).
ART EXHIBITION

Local artists will also be celebrated as they display their work in the venue’s Gallery throughout the Festival (Sat 9 – Mon 18 Apr), offering visitors the chance to purchase a piece of original art.
Come and draw on our walls!
Our Runway Gallery will become a huge chalkboard doodle wall which visitors will have the opportunity to make their own mark and see it evolve throughout the Festival.

Harriet Riddell, from In Stitch You will be joining us for our Festival of Arts & Crafts!
She will be running drop-in free style stitching workshops for anyone aged 8+ (children must be accompanied by an adult). You can pick between a selection of templates and free motion embroider over the magic template, which dissolves when you dunk it in water - leaving you your amazing free motion embroidery!
