Christmas Craft Fair at The Base

Join us for our first Christmas Craft Fair at The Base. Our festive extravaganza will showcase the wealth of local creative talent in Newbury and the surrounding areas, offering the best handmade produce, crafts and gifts for the festive season.

Enjoy festive treats at Honesty Café and browse the stalls showcasing a variety of crafts and gifts, from woodwork to jewellery, textiles, and handmade homewares and artisan soaps. The perfect event for those last-minute gifts and to get into the Christmas spirit!

The craft stalls will feature a selection of art and homewares, including woodturner Peter Cox, who uses locally sourced wood to handcraft a beautiful selection of bowls and items for the home. Open Studios accredited artist Ross Buckner’s stunning watercolour pencil portraits of animals and wildlife bring his subjects to life with each and every pencil stroke, while Hannah Green’s upcycling injects new life into discarded and forgotten objects with recycled and reclaimed accessories and homewares.

Bringing fragrance into the home, Candle Delites offers a range of handmade soy wax candles, melts, scented sachets, and bespoke hampers for all occasions, including a wet dog range, while Soap by Kate specializes in artisanal soap made with 100% natural ingredients. Made with love and care, these fragrant soaps will make your bathroom experience infinitely more satisfying and relaxing.

Jewellers at the Fair include Bobbin and Wire, who combine the traditional techniques and skills of lacemaking with modern materials to make distinctive and unique jewellery that keeps the old craft of bobbin lacemaking alive. Zaroli creates jewellery and accessories from precious gemstones, Swarovski crystals and Murano Glass - the perfect accessories to add sparkle to any occasion. Peaches and Tea handcrafts polymer clay jewellery which is playful and vibrant.

Valentina T
will showcase stunning textile designs. From silk and wool scarves to pocket squares, Valentina’s designs are based on travel, nature and convey a story behind each collection.

Bloom & Bear
is inspired by the ­flora and foliage found in nature. As a surface print designer and illustrator, Tee Stevenson uses traditional and modern art methods to create patterns and prints for illustrative homewares and accessories. All of Bloom and Bear's work is designed, printed and made in the UK, using sustainable stock.

Astro Cat Creations
aims to create bright and beautiful homemade sewn gifts with handpicked fabrics. They create a range of goods, with a focus on bow ties and other neckwear for people and pets alongside bags, hair accessories, bunting and seasonal gifts such as Christmas stockings.

Crafty Cartridges
makes handmade coat/storage racks, Christmas decorations & other useful items using used /upcycled cartridges.

The Dorothy Aromando Art Fund
is a registered charity in memory of artist Dorothy Aromando selling a range of beautifully designed stationery, prints and cards. All proceeds go to Charity.

Born again Bohemia
will be exhibiting on Saturday 21st Dec offering free drop-in sustainable Christmas crafts throughout the day, from Christmas bunting, mini wreath tree decorations and mini embroidery hangings using reclaimed fabric and driftwood.

Throughout the weekend there will be the opportunity to visit our resident artists and enjoy free machine embroidery and pottery throwing, along with Christmas crafts for all the family.
