Kurt Jackson: Oak Relaxed Day at The Base
On Thursday 7 November, we will be holding 'Relaxed Days' at The Base where we make adjustments throughout the building to ensure our space is inclusive and comfortable for anyone, including those who may be neurodivergent or benefit from a more relaxed environment
Although the event is designed to support autistic and neurodiverse people, it is suitable for anyone who would benefit from visiting The Base Gallery when it is less crowded and noisy.
Resources will be available on the day including:
- A dedicated quiet space on the 1st floor
- A SEN bag, which has ear-defenders, fidget toys and emotion cards.
Some adjustments we have made to our space include:
- We limit the number of people in the Gallery for each hourly timeslot
- Background music is turned off throughout the building
- Loud hand-dryers are turned off all day and we provide disposable hand-towels instead
- A visual story to help you plan your visit, available to download in PDF and Word format below.
If there is anything we can do to make your visit more comfortable, please speak to a member of our team or email admin@thebasegreenham.co.uk
