OPEN CALL: Festival of Art Exhibition 2026
OPEN CALL TO ARTISTS
We are excited to announce we are now accepting submissions for our Festival of Art Exhibition 2026 that will take over our Gallery from Saturday 6 - Sunday 21 June.
We are looking for 2D wall-based artists, working in any style or medium, to show in the Gallery space for the duration of the Festival. The exhibition will be at the heart of our Festival of Arts and Crafts which will kick off with a craft market on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 June , which will surround The Base building and will be the extravaganza to start the festivities.
In addition to the exhibition, we will also have taster workshops for visitors to get creative and have a go at learning something new whilst they are with us.
Eligibility:
- From within 40 mile radius of The Base
- Aged 18+
- Work in 2D form
We accept up to 2 submissions per person.
Artwork can be framed or unframed, but it must be fitted with D-rings and rope.
Artwork must be labelled clearly on delivery. Labels must be tied with string to hang beneath the artwork.

Please note: The images you submit should be your own work and the work that you want to exhibit in our Gallery space. We will not accept work that has previously been submitted for exhibitions in our Gallery. There will be a 25% commission taken on any sales that are made during The Base’s Festival of Arts & Crafts.
All successful exhibitors will be notified by email no later than Friday 17 April. We are a small team, and so we will try to respond to everyone in a timely manner, but please note that we will not be able to give feedback as to why you have not been successful.
If your work is selected, you will need to be able to deliver it to The Base on Saturday 30 May between 10pm - 1pm. The collection and wrapping date for artwork is Sunday 21 June, 5 - 7pm.
