This introduction to silvermithing with Sandra McArdle will give you the opportunity to design and make a pair of silver bangles that can be worn together or individually.

You will design the bangles you wish to make and learn the basics of silversmithing.

What to expect:
You will learn to measure and calculate the amount of metal required to make your bangles, which can then be textured or shaped, using a variety of silversmithing techniques. You will learn to cut, anneal, solder, texture, clean and polish silver, to create your own unique bangles.

Benefits:
You will learn the basics of silversmithing to create a piece that you will enjoy wearing for years to come, or to give to a loved one as a perfect gift.

Who is your tutor:
Sandra McArdle's interest in silver jewellery making started many years ago. In 2016 Sandra graduated from the London Jewellery School, Hatton Garden, with a Diploma in Silver Jewellery (distinction) and started Sandra McArdle Jewellery.

Sandra loves working with silver and semi precious stones to create an object of beauty. She is inspired by the way silver changes and responds as it’s worked on to create that final piece and to be part of that process is so rewarding.

Duration: 10am - 1.30pm

What to bring / wear: Silversmithing can be a messy business so please wear clothes that you will be comfortable in, aprons will be provided. Please wear closed toes shoes and ensure that hair is tied back off your face. There is close work involved in working with silver so if you use glasses, please don’t forget them!
