Please download the Access List Application Form below; please return this completed form by email to boxoffice@cornexchangenew.co.uk or by post to Corn Exchange, Market Place, Newbury, RG14 5BD. Alternatively, you can also drop it at the Corn Exchange’s Box Office.

Relaxed Days

Our Relaxed Days are open to everyone, however there are a few changes we put in place to make the experience a less sensory and more comfortable environment for those who are on the autism spectrum, or for anyone with sensitivities who may benefit from a more relaxed environment.

Some adjustments we make to our space include:

  • We limit the number of people in the Gallery for each hourly timeslot
  • Background music is turned off throughout the building
  • Loud hand-dryers are turned off all day and we provide disposable hand-towels instead

What To Expect When Visiting

The entrance to The Base is located via the car park and is accessed via a ramp up to the automatic doors. As you enter, there are stairs to your right and if you continue past them and follow the corridor round to the right, you will find a lift at the end of the corridor on your left. On the first floor there are 8 residential artists’ studios, the Lookout Studio (this is where we hold workshops and courses) and our administrative office.

On the ground floor, there is the Runway Gallery, Honesty café, toilets (female/male/access) and a lift for access to the first floor. You will also see a neon blue sign signaling where the main Gallery is (this is where our exhibitions are held). You can exit the building at any time during your visit via the main entrance or Honesty Café doors.

Guide To Exhibitions
As you enter the door to the Gallery you will see a desk to your right-hand side. A member of the Base team will ask you whether you have booked a ticket in advance. If you have already booked a ticket, please tell them the surname the tickets were booked under. If you haven’t pre-booked tickets, our team member will guide you through the process of paying for tickets.
