Staying Creative Digitally

Across The Base and Corn Exchange family, we have a broad programme of workshops and courses dedicated to exploring creativity and learning new skills.

Afternoon Art, tutored by The Base's resident artist Richard Francis Bellin, is a regular art course perfect for learning the basics or furthering skills. Richard started his artistic career studying illustration before finding his calling in fine art painting. As an artist, his work experiments with paint formulations and ultraviolet to create atmospheric landscapes and seascapes, which illuminate in the darkness.

For this course, Richard uses his knowledge and experience to teach a broad range of simple and advanced art techniques exploring a different subject each week.

Free Online sessions

This week we are excited to bring Richard's instruction to a digital platform, accessible for all to learn from and enjoy. In the first of four pre-recorded video tutorials, available from the homepages on the Corn Exchange and The Base websites on Saturday 28 March, Richard will show you different painting techniques you can use to successfully paint atmospheric woodland landscapes.

Whether you are wanting to try something new or develop your skills, Richard's free videos will enable you to explore your own creativity at home.
