Mother's Day at The Base

Skip the standard gifts and create something special this Mother’s Day!

Mother's Day is just around the corner, and what better way to show your love and appreciation for the special women in your life, than through the gift of creativity?

While flowers are a traditional gift, you can add a personal touch and learn the art of arranging them yourself in our Living Spring Wreath workshop (Sat 29 Mar). You could even create a bouquet that blooms all year round in Drawing with Wire: Spring Flowers (Sat 22 Mar) or join Base resident artist, Ellie Kerr-Smiley’s Botanical Sketching (Sun 16 Mar) workshop.

A spring wreath with yellow and purple flowers positioned on a wooden door has text overlapping which states: Living Spring Wreath - Sat 29 Mar, 2pm - 4pm

Create a portrait of yourself (or perhaps, even a picture of your Mum) to gift her in the expert-led 2-hour  Portrait Masterclass (Sat 15 Mar) workshop or craft a gift made during one of the Master Crafter workshops happening in The Base Gallery this March, such as Make a Macramé Bottle Holder (Sun 16 Mar), or create a special card in Introduction to Papercutting (Thu 27 Mar).

If you are looking to spend time together on Mother’s Day weekend, you can join Charlotte Adcock’s Mother’s Day Printmaking (Sat 29 Mar) session and learn the art of lino printing while enjoying a tea and cake from Honesty Café, or join  Pysanky Ukrainian Egg Painting (Sun 30 Mar), and experience this beautiful cultural tradition just in time for Easter.

Join this fantastic celebration of crafts at The Base this Spring, as well as the array of other exciting workshops, courses, exhibitions and talks available to explore.
