Donate your art to our auction and help us raise funds for The Base (registered charity no. 1199188).
Whether you're looking to have a clear out, are making space for some new art, or are an artist who would like to donate their work... we're looking for donations of artworks (2D or 3D) to enter into our silent fundraising auction at our Festival of Arts & Crafts 2026.
Why are we running an auction? The auction, which will be hosted at The Base from Saturday 6 until Sunday 21 June, will help us raise valuable funds to go towards supporting our charity work. The Base’s charitable activity covers a broad range of work, including school outreach, community projects, and skill development for local young people.
What is a silent auction? A silent auction is a fundraising event at which items for sale are displayed for attendees to browse, place bids on, and purchase. However, unlike traditional or live auctions, there is no auctioneer present. Instead, participants place their bids silently and anonymously on a bid sheet using a bidding number - hence the name silent auction.
How will the auction work?
- We will display any artwork that has been donated to us upstairs at The Base, with labels detailing the title of the piece, the artists, and the name of the person who kindly donated it to us (unless you’d prefer to stay anonymous).
- Positioned next to the silent auction will be slips and a box, where visitors can place their bids. We are happy to give artworks a reserve price to help ensure the value of donations (please let us know if you would like this to happen when you donate a piece of art - especially if you are the artist who created it!).
- Once the artwork has been displayed for the duration of the Festival (6 - 21 June) we will close the auction. The winning bidders will be contacted, their payment collected, and they will be united with their new piece of art!
- All proceeds from artwork sales will go to The Base charity, helping us support local people by providing opportunities to get involved with visual art.
