Join Helen Mortimer and enjoy the art of découpage in this festive workshop.

What to expect: Learn how to découpage using an array of colourful and patterned napkins to create beautiful designs on glass dishes, candles and more! You will work with paper napkins to create your own designs by cutting and gluing onto your object of choice. Your designs will then be sealed with layers of varnish or lacquer to create a smooth, painted-like finish. Optional mince pie and hot drink

Benefits: Découpage is a versatile and accessible art form, that can renew and transform a variety of different objects.

Who is your tutor: Helen Mortimer is an artist specialising in paintings on silk, inspired by her travels abroad. She exhibits annually at Open Studios in both West Berkshire and Hampshire. She also creates silk scarves, using Shibori designs, shown at craft fairs and exhibitions with Made in the Hood - a local craft group. She teaches art and craft to various groups in the community: at The Base, The Corn Exchange and Day Centres.

Duration: 10am - 3pm

What to bring / wear: All materials included.
