Join Judith Needham to make a willow reindeer about 45cm tall to stand on a windowsill or table.

What to expect:

Using a whole range of basketry techniques, you will learn lots of skills in this class, as well as an impressive item to take home with you. Your complete willow reindeer will have twiggy antlers, which can be decorated with fairy lights if you wish. Suitable for beginners and those who have worked with willow before.

In this workshop you will be learning the traditional craft of willow weaving, which not only creates a lasting functional or decorative item for you to take home to enjoy, it also helps promote and celebrate this ancient heritage craft. As a hands on workshop, working with this natural material is a great creative work-out for your hands!

Who is your tutor:

Judith Needham is a basket maker and willow weaver based in Farnham, Surrey, England's Craft Town. Judith specialises in woven willow playhouses but she also make baskets and teaches basket making and willow sculpture workshops. Judith enjoys passing on her skills through teaching workshops to adults and children at various venues across Surrey and Hampshire.
