Tessa Kirby teaches a variety of techniques that will explore the basic skills of using watercolours and pastels.

What to expect: Beginners and the more experienced are welcome. You will learn the basic techniques of watercolour in an accessible way, as well as pastel and other media. You will learn about colour theory and composition. To enable you to improve your creative skills, Tessa gives individual tutoring according to the needs and abilities of the group.

What to bring / wear: Students will be expected to bring and use their own materials during the course. We suggest you bring the following materials with you:
  • Small box of watercolour paints
  • Paint brush suitable for watercolours
  • Watercolour Paper
  • Drawing board (if you have one to hand)

Benefits: The benefit of painting classes extends beyond the canvas. In addition to developing or improving artistic skills, exploring art and creativity can be a therapeutic outlet, for your wellbeing, to encourage self expression and reduce stress. It's also a great opportunity to meet likeminded creatives!

Who is your tutor: Tessa Kirby is a multi-faceted artist exploring light and colour, water, shadows, and reflections through her work. Inspired by nature, light and colour Tessa works with oils, watercolours and pastels to explore the emotional responses to her subject matters. With 40+ years of teaching experience, Tessa enjoys sharing her love of creativity and inspiring others.

Session times: 10am - 12pm
